The Session

In this two hour workshop, you will learn how to illustrate a letter, name or word of your choice with beautiful summertime botanicals.  We will focus on developing basic watercolour skills and techniques, allowing you to grow in confidence and start to develop your own style.

We begin the session with a brief introduction to colour theory so that you can decide on a jazzy colour palette for your design. We will learn how to mix colours, layer paint, blend pigments, add shadows and practise using brushes with more confidence.

We will then cover a series of simple, playful watercolour tips and techniques, learning how to use simple brush strokes to create leaves, flowers and stems and how these can be composed to create botanical motifs that will inspire your own designs. I will be on hand to offer gentle guidance and encouragement throughout.

The session will be super relaxed and aims to be a little bit of time set aside for you to unwind, brush up on your painting skills and make something unique amongst friendly faces.

Suitable for all levels ... beginners and beyond.
